Hi everyone, I’m a bassist looking to join a band (no cover bands) playing Darkwave, Punk, Indie — it really comes down to the personal and musical chemistry.
Musical Influences:
Indie: Inner Wave, Helado Negro, Clubz, No Buses, Germanò, No Vacation, Men I Trust, A Beacon School, The Bilinda Butchers, Dayglow, Hers, JAWNY, Swiss Lips, DIIV, etc.
Darkwave: The Soft Moon, New Candys, Drab Majesty, Computer Kill, Night in Athens, Kontravoid, She past away, etc.
Heavier Stuff: Kid Kapichi, Soft Play, Punkband, Joyce Manor, WAAX, Rohna, Machine Head, ThxSoMch, Ocean Grove, Gallows, BAEST, GEL, etc.
My tastes go beyond these lists, but for the sake of what I enjoy playing on bass, I’d like to stick to these vibes. I’m primarily looking for energetic, groove-driven material that isnt overly technical.
A bit about me:
I spent my early years playing metal on guitar before finding my home on the bass. I’ve spent time in the Brighton scene (with Wrestless) and most recently played darkwave with The Spoiled.
I’m an illustrator by trade; music for me is about high-quality execution. I’m looking for an established or well-organized project where I can focus strictly on playing at my best.
Because I deal with otosclerosis, I’m strictly safety first with my hearing—I always wear plugs and avoid volume wars, so I’m looking for a band that values a controlled, professional rehearsal environment. If you’re about groove and quality over sheer volume, we’ll get along great.
