Hi,
I recently moved to Stockholm from Vancouver, Canada and I am still learning Swedish. I am interested in joining or forming a melodic death metal OR power metal band, as those are two of my favourite genres of music.
I have been playing drums off and on for about 19 years now, but for the last 2-3 years I haven't been playing in bands and due to this I could use some practice to become fast again. I used to play in a few metal bands in Canada, but nothing famous. I have my own drums but no studio or rehearsal place at the moment.
My influences in no particular order below. Right now I listen to a lot of epic power metal, very melodic death metal and some folk metal, examples: Mors Principium Est, Opeth, Kalmah, Nightwish, etc.
POWER METAL: Avantasia, Dragonland, Edguy, Sonata Arctica, Stratovarius, Revolution Rennaisance, Nightwish, Helloween, Rhapsody (of Fire), After Forever.
BLACK METAL: Dimmu Borgir, Wolves in the Throne Room, Emperor, Catemenia, Cradle of Filth, Mayhem.
DEATH METAL: At the Gates, Dark Tranquillity, Eluveitie, Hypocrisy, In Flames (older), Kalmah, Mors Principium Est, Lamb of God, Strapping Young Lad, The Absence.
OTHER METAL: Opeth.
ROCK/NOT-METAL: Led Zepplin, The Beatles, The Tea Party, The Doors, Deep Purple, Pink Floyd, The Smashing Pumpkins, Classical music, Jazz, and more.
