I am a drummer (31 y)and looking for a band and/or a guitarist and songwriter, who already has some material to work on, to found a new band.
I have been playing drums for several years and have been playing in various bands before (indie/alternative folk/pop/garage/rock). I also have been playing in a percussion ensemble (samba, body percussion) know a bit of guitar and piano.
I would like to work on original material but apart from that do not have any specific preference regarding genre as long as it grooves and/or rocks and has nice melodies/tunes.I think the style/genre develops with the people.It would be nice to create something unique but this is always easilier said that done :). I thought it might be nice to play in a band, which in addition to the conventional drums + ryhtm/lead guitar + bass intrumentation comprises also other intruments (e.g. percussions, violin, trumpet, electronic features or ukulele:). At the moment I listen a lot to Beirut, which I really like. Not that I would like to necessarily play this type of music but I think it is an could example for a unique multi-genre indie band. Maybe I would be prefer to play a bit "rockier" music that also has some funky elements. Well, this is just for rough orientation, as I said I am quite open.
I see the band as a long-term project, would like to rehearse on a regular basis (once per week)and play at least one gig per year.I think it is important to be ambicious and rehearse seriously, but my priority lies on having fun playing music with friends.
